Choice on '63 C50 or C60
I have a choice to make on a truck purchase. I have been looking for a medium duty truck to use on my 6 acres. The plan is to primarily use it to haul water but have it for any other needs that may arise.
Both trucks are 1963 Chevys. The C50 has a 327, single speed rear, no hoist and a flatbed. The body is decent with only a small bit of rust. The owner is asking $1,500 for it. The C60 has a 292, 2 speed rear, hoist and a full metal box. The body on this one is straight-up fantastic. I have already looked at this truck. The only issue with it is it needs a new carburetor. Price on this truck is $2,500. Sorry, I don't have any pictures of either truck available right now. At this point I am really thinking the C60 would be the better truck. I like that it has the 292, those have great torque. Plus the 2 speed rear and hoist add a lot too. Just wanted to know what you all think.

I would definitely go with the C60. Not only do I also like the 292 and the 2-Speed Rear part, but it should also have a higher GVW. Plus it Dumps. You will find that part pretty useful around your land.
Keep us posted on it.

Yes I agree with Bill. The hoist alone is worth the trouble.
