abs brakes help

looks like the abs has went out in my 91 gmc s15 jimmy 2wd.
thought the master cylinder went out but it is the abs.

anyway, can anyone give me any help on bypassing the abs unit which ones do i need to tie togther and where do i get the fittings.

there are 2 lines going to the Proportion Valve, and 2 coming out and going to the abs.

then from the abs, theres 2 going to the front wheels, and one going to the rearwheels. that makes 5 total in the abs.3 lines for the front, and 2 lines for the back. i know atleast 1 line is a different size from the others, but not sure
of the sizes yet. would an autozone or a carquest have any thing to make this work?

THANKS

Re: abs brakes help

Here you go, I think someone will get you over here.

And you can take it all the way out, but you will have to do some brake line work under the hood.

Trav..

Re: abs brakes help

sounds like someone pushed caliper pistons in without opening bleeders forcing sludgy fluid up into the ABS unit which causes the isolation and dump valves to stick open.

think of it like this; would you rather sit on the toilet and have the poo go out or rather use the plunger handle and shove it up further towards you intestine?

it can be bypassed. the front lines will need a "T" while the rears will need a coupler union. do NOT use compression fittings of any sort at all. inverted flare only NAPA should have all the adaptor fittings to make it work. it'll take a few trips to get all the stuff, take your time
