1957 Chevy 3100 Cluster Gauge Wiring

Hey guys i am finally wrapping up the harness install on my truck. Only thing is i got to the gauge hookup part and realized i cannot read or find terminal nomenclature for the ammeter or the fuel gauge. The ammeter has the terminals 2 with 2 male terminals on each side but i do not know which side is negative or positive to hookup the harness to. Also on the fuel gauge i do not know which post goes to what there are no labels. I know what each wire is for since i have the wiring diagram but i do not know what the terminal is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

hook both up any way you want, if they read backwards they are wired wrong. no harm to your gauges.
the ampmeter should have + - stamped on them. so should the gas gauge - goes to the sending unit
you can also test the gas gauge by putting 12v to one side and ground the other

Re: 1957 Chevy 3100 Cluster Gauge Wiring

Ok ill try that tomorrow I think I got the ammeter good but I need to check the fuel because the needle didn't move on it when I turned the key on. Wasnt able to keep her running due to a cracked fuel line fitting. Is the gas tank just one terminal to the IGN switch and the other to the sending unit? Does the tank need to be grounded? Thanks for the help!
