Re: Blazer challet find.

I know of a GMC Cassa Grande in Florissant, CO. The camper has been separated from the Jimmy and a regular top put on with a plow but he has them both.

Was that one black with a blue roof?

Re: Blazer challet find.

No, it's still in the stock colors. It's rusty but nothing crazy. I'll try to go by and get the number off the back of the unit. The owner is a real nice guy and had lots of old cars.

Much appreciated! Last I heard a few years ago, there was a black/blue repainted Casa Grande near Silt CO, so this is likely another I don't know about.

Ugh.... I wish I had the cash for that. Perfect for fishing in the Sierra's with the family and the River. Too sweet!

This has the 75-76 grille, Is the year wrong or was this different for the Casa Grande?

I didn't notice that; I would say the grill is not correct for this truck.

Actually, it's the other way around. The seller is incorrectly listing this as a '77. It is definitely a '76 from that color combo, identical with the '76 Chevy Blazer Chalets.

Re: Blazer challet find.

The link doesn't work for that anymore, but it was still coming up in searchtempest about a week ago.
I think the price went up quite a bit though?

That one was #0733 Casa Grande, the surprise to me was the price drop from his earlier listings, but that might have been a typo on his part. When I last saw it in an LA Craigslist ad in August 2012, the prior seller was asking $5800. Could be that this current seller dropped the price and then changed his mind for what you last saw. I've seen other sellers yo-yo their prices.....

It's still listed in the Orange Co CL for $3800:

I'd guess he raised the price after he saw your thread and interest.

Hmm, $100 under what I paid for my former #1747. Likely this one will need as much restoration as mine did, the former owner didn't appear to be all that kind with it. One would have to be sure the rust isn't out of control in the cab floor, otherwise this would be a pretty good starter price.

The '250 made' for Casa Grandes is a more of a guess since GM told me there were 1,555 Chalets made, and the editor of Treasure Search magazine declared in 1979 here (2nd paragraph) that there were 1,780 altogether, which is why we speculate that there were only 225 Casa Grandes made. GM told me they couldn't find production numbers for the Casa Grandes.
