Bought a 1972 C10 last month from a friend. He bought the truck in 1994 from the original owner, installed new tires and had it painted. He started to install a new wood bed kit and lost interest so the truck sat idle with a partially dissembled bed for the last 30 years.

I am currently working on the bed. After some work the wood is fitting nicely and ready for disassembly and refinishing. When the bed is finished I will be working over the fuel system, cooling system, and brakes. The truck starts and runs. I drove it about 1/2 mile with the bed off.

I have been lurking here for the last month and have gained some valuable insight into these trucks. I have owned a 1967 C20 Fleetside and a 1967 C30 flat bed in the past which I used as work trucks.

Re: First Post

Welcome and I agree, that is a very nice looking truck. Is that coincidence that your truck has the same color shade as your tri-five.

Thanks! I'm located in Hickman. Most folks outside of Stanislaus County have no idea where that is.

Now I know why your location is “rural” haha

If you ever need anything message me, I’m right down the road.

I used to always see a blue 67 c20 around Hickman. Is that the one you mentioned?

The C20 I had was green. It had a 283 with a granny 4-speed. This was 25 years ago and I was living in Escalon at the time.

I still see a beat up dark blue '67 C20 running around Hickman. Bet it's the same one you have seen.

welcome to the best board on the internet.
you have a couple of neighbors-1 in hickmam and 1 in waterford that are into the 67-72s, one is board member "sheepdip" the other isn't on here but he owns a huge collection of trucks, somewhere in the neighborhood of 70+.

Re: First Post

Love your truck, especially with the factory air and buckets. The 56 is nice also, my favorite of the tri5's. Also the the garage with high ceilings and hoists, nice setup all around.

Re: First Post

Major congrats to you!!!

I laughed, rural California...I was thinking, is there such a place???

Being a 72, it has factory disc brakes. No converting needed. Just go to parts store if you need parts. Such a good thing!!!

Man, I'd drive that ANYWHERE!!!

Re: First Post

Actually… about 80% of the state by surface area is rural and not the type of politics you would expect. But about 60% of the population lives in a few big cities alone the coast.
