What rearend are you running

Im getting close to the point of working on my rearend and was wondering what others are running with higher horse applications. Beefed up 12 bolt truck, 9 inch Ford, Dana 60 or others. Concerned about c-clips and hear c-clip eliminators leak. Im running a early classics 4/6 drop so I dont have to worry about the panhard (trackbar) mount on the axle housing. Has anyone found another application the right length ?

I am using the 4/6 drop with my stock 12bolt and a new 3.73 Ring and Pinion/Eaton Posi unit. I plan on having around 400hp when the motor is finally bought. From what I have read and from the conversations with local shops the 12bolt is great for street use and this kind of HP.

12 bolt, with eaton posi/4.10 Richmond gears. i am running in the 400hp range with my 383(street driven). I dont think you will have to worry about braking it, unless you are running slicks& really hooking up hard. I have been told that the C clip eliminators are not the best for street use(they tend to be leak prone), & need a lot of maintainance.

Dana 60's are readily available in junkyards with performance ratios and with lockers or posi units. Axles can be made to any length . After that its just a matter of having the tubes cut and new ends welded on that accept your brake hardware. Ive built quite a few from boneyard Dana 60's that I didnt have more than $500 in by the time they were done with new hi strength axles , posi units and 4.11 gears. No c clips to worry about either.

I dont have any complaints on the eaton unit, mine came from a 73 12 bolt that I swapped a tilt column for. The unit got new plates & springs before I installed it in my truck, so I saved a few bucks going used & doing the labor......

Any recommendations on board members or prefered rebuilder for rearends ? Preferably in the southeast. I want to change ratios (around 3.73) and add a posi.
