1966 C10 Frame Off
So I think it's a good idea to get started with a thread about my build. In May of 2013 I picked up a 1966 C10 Longbed Step Side for $1800 on craigslist. I originally picked up the truck to just move from one house to another, but quickly fell in love with the truck:
No power steering No A/C No Power Brakes (All drum) Carbed 305 TH350 Transmission Rusted Body It was a lot of fun until stuff started falling apart on me one piece at a time. Quickly I was spending more time fixing it than driving it. So I started the frame off restoration. I have included some pictures of the truck here before I started taking it apart. This is the 305 that came in the truck This is a 12-bolt rear end that was poorly painted. My plans for the project are to do a frame off hot rod. I have a couple LT1's and a lot of parts for them. I would like to ladder bar the rear end and change it to coil over shocks. All disk brake conversion, and more to come. I'm sure there will be some $$'s involved, but this thread will help me track my progress and get some opinions about what I should/shouldn't do. As always, thanks for viewing my first thread and build. |
