Even more amazing is that he has the one and only all steel top! It also fits a 1967 & 1968 Blazer. I'm guessing we'll be seeing that top relisted many times.

All the tops had textured surfaces to my knowledge. A lot of people sand them smooth when they repaint/customize. The two types are single wall and double wall, both are fiberglass. Single wall tops bolt down from above (no removing rear side panels if you have them), they have dome lights and aren't as prone to sagging & splitting as the double wall tops. Generally, the single wall tops go for more $ than the double wall.

Is the benefit of having a double wall top just reduced road noise then? I have one but I wanted to swap it for a single wall just for the simplicity of putting it on the truck.

No advantage to a double wall as far as I know. It was just the first design.

Where in Seattle are you at? The local club (classic gm truck club of washington) is getting together at the XXX Rootbeer Drive-in All Truck Show Sunday the 24th. All are welcome. Hope to see you there.

here's the thread - http://classicgmtrucks.net/forums/in...=0&#entry30730

I don't think my ride is nice enough to be in the show by a mile, but I was thinking about attending. I'm in Renton. Issaquah is just a skip away from my place.

Gee, ya know, I've got a Very rare '67 Blazer XL that has an all steel top. Of course it's not removable. And it has the even more rare 3-Door feature. Oh wait, it's just a Suburban.

I switched mine from double to single and never noticed a difference in the winter.
