Fuel level float
Since I bought the truck about a month ago, I noticed that the fuel level is not accurate. When I fill it right up, it never gets above 3/4 tank. I was thinking that it could be the float that is cracked and may have fuel in it causing the inacurate reading.
I can get a new float for 10$ or a new sending unit for 35$. Should I just replace the whole unit since I'm going through the trouble of pulling it out, or be cheap and change just the float. Is it possible that there is another issue causing the off reading? Posted via Mobile Device

Ok kids I got this one. I just had to restore my fuel tank so I'll ask you...have you pulled the unit out yet to see what condition its in? I found out that my float was rusty and totally saturated. But, my complete unit was totally shot. I found out that the float just clipped on but the whole unit was so bad I ordered a new one. Pulll out the unit and go from there.

I haven't pulled anything yet. If I have any doubts, after hearing your situation, I will just buy the complete unit just in case. It's only 25$ more and it's all new, including the sock filter.
