help with lowering frt end

Is it possible to lower the front end of my 69 GMC swb by cuting the springs? And if so how will the ride be? And will it need to be realigned? Any help is great help thanx

Re: help with lowering frt end

Of course! Yank them and cut 'em. I'm sure someone will chime in here, but I'm pretty sure 1 coil will get you about 2 to 2.5 inches. Pull them both to be sure you're cutting the same off each or you'll be like me this weekend and cutting 1/4 coil off the passenger side because the PO didn't cut evenly. After any height adjustment mod you'll want to get an allignment soon after to save your tires. Take care when dropping the LCA's...there's a LOT of tension there.

There's always those that'll tell you to save up and buy lowered springs...it's probably better, but not necessary.
