Vent window latch loose

Is there a way to take up the slack in the latch for the vent windows? Or maybe I could just stick a few washers on the outside part of it? With it being nice out I would like to use the window but it always leaks air and whistles if I don't jam quarters in the latch.

By the way, how would I go about removing the latch? It looks like a roll pin is in there, but I didn't want to go just breaking things and making it worse.

To remove the latch, tap the roll pin out. be careful that however you tap it out, you don't open the pin up unintentionally. The pin comes out, and the handle thing kinda comes off. Have your hand right under it all, or you'll have to crawl around and find the spring (assuming its a lock one i guess). Under that, there is a torx (i think it was a torx? i slept since then) screw underneath. It unscrews. Tighten it really well and make sure everything fits back together really well when you put it back together.

I just went thru all this for the second time in a year. Last year, i put on new handles. Just a few weeks ago, my cousin tinted my windows so i had to take the handles off (since he did a good quality tinting it).

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. T tookit apart and stuck a few washers on the oustside piece and it is nice and tight. Still gotta go fast enough to see if it is done leaking though.
