Re: tilt column with cruise control????

Most likely a van column. Factory cruise control engage switch on trucks was mounted under dash in 71-72.

Re: tilt column with cruise control????

69 and 70 had it on the turn signal lever, and I was thinking 71 did also.
The switch is nothing special, if it is not needed, one screw removes it and the harness is pulled out with the lever. So in reality, it's not much of a selling point unless it is the real deal switch, which is very hard to locate the actual correct one.

Re: tilt column with cruise control????

I don't have a pic of one, but a real deal 68-70 cruise lever is chrome, not black.

Re: tilt column with cruise control????

The type and location of the cruise control engagement switch has been discussed before!..... The 1971 Chevrolet truck service manual information. Section 15, Accessories, Cruisemaster has 6 pages and 7 illustrations. Fig 1& 2- shows the engagement switch "located at the end of the directional signal lever"..... Am wondering if GM Cruise Master units boxed for dealer installation might have used a dash monted engaement switch.
As an old parts guy, I have seen errors in manuals, mislabled illustrations and figures.... but never 6 pages and 7 illustrations of wrong information

Re: tilt column with cruise control????

Yes,there were tilts w/cruise.It`s rare and valueable. It may have no value to most, but to someone who needs or wants factory cruise it`s a rare option w/obscure parts. There`s a Cruisemaster set-up for sale in "Parts" from the last week or so.It`s everything but that column and that column is nothing but the column. It`s hard to put that together and it`s cool as all he!!.
To most it`s worth no more than any other auto shift tilt.I bet it would snatch a pretty penny on Ebay.
