I was considering buying a set of used wheels, but one of them is bent. Have any of you ever had a bent wheel repaired? Was the repair as good as you expected or did it still have issues after the repair? Thanks. MisterE

I've had one on an audi repaired. It looked just like new when they were finished, but it wasn't as bent as that one. You might want to watch out for hairline cracks with that one.

I have seen wheels worst than that repaired, but it is not cheap. I live in the Ft Lauderdale area and there are a few shops that repair wheels, These guys get top dollar. Unless the wheel was no longer available, I'd consider just replacing it. That my .02 on fixing a wheel.

Yes, they can be fixed sometimes.as i think aluminum is the Key in fixing them.........i have had my front wheels on sweet pea fixed three or for times.....by Mr Wheels of Indy.......i USED to run a very low profile and the Indy chuck holes took there toll on them ......Anyways , i would look in the yellow pages for wheel repair.....Or stop by a local collision shop and see who they recommend ,or who they use.....I think Trans wheel....is who we use at work....and they SHOULD be like a nationwide carrier.........Also if you are getting a smokin deal on them.....You may just have to buy ONE new one instead on all four......depending on the deal......

I dont think I would trust it after it was fixed. I think I would just get another wheel.

If that's one piece billet, which it looks like it is, I wouldn't go the repair route, just me opinion.

I'm certainly no expert on wheels.
But, to me, fixing that wheel and then using it would be just scary to me.
I'd replace it.
I always prefer to err on the "safe" side.
That's just my .02.

We send out aluminum wheels to get repaired at work all the time. I say go for it, the worst the repair place can say is that it's not repairable.

Personally...I wouldn't repair that. I would buy a new one and offer less money for the rest of them.

Just last month I had one of the alloy wheels on my Mercedes coupe repaired. I had nailed a guardrail at about 70 mph and it was bent, cracked and had part of the bead area broken off. The repair looks as good as new, but it wasn't cheap. It cost close to $250.00 to have it done, but it was a 25 year old aftermarket, German made wheel that is no longer available. The other 3 wheels on the car are fine, and I wanted to keep the set in tact. Check with some of the local body shops in your area and see who they recomend.

pretty much like most of the guys are saying that wheel can be fixed, wheels get repaied all the time and some of you may be driving around on them right now if your vehicle was ever in a collision and the wheel got screwed most of these insurance companys put what they call a "reman" wheel on there for you. this is a wheel thats either cracked bent busted or dented that is completely reconditioned and then sold as new, most of the companies out there do good work. like someone said check with trans-wheel, or if theres a local keystone automotive supply warehouse in your area (they just merged with LKQ(like kind quality used autopart recyclers) get ahold of them and they are not over the top expensive to repair a wheel.
