WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

WTB- A pair of aluminum spacers for the center cap on a Coy C-5 wheels. I have seen several sets that have been made on the board. I have tried to get some made locally with no luck. So if you have a extra set let me know.

Thanks,
Steve

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

I have access to CNC machines. I would like to see the cad file and might consider making these for board members if material and shipping is covered.
I have made many parts for members and like to help out when I can. Usually, the biggest problem is finding the time.

I would be interested in purchasing two of these spacers,... if the price is right.

Looks like the interest is there for someone willing to make a batch. I'm first in line!

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

I will make a quick program to see how long it will take to make them. It looks like we need .25" (1/4") x 4" X 4" ea. We need to find the cheapest place to buy the stock.

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

That be them ! I made 4 ( one for each wheel ) so that all wheels look the same, but I am just an*l like that. Made mine out of 1/4" aluminum, you will need to get longer mount screws as well. If I remember correctly I got #10-32 x 5/8 Socket Flat Head screws in Stainless steel.

So does this space the center cap out on the front to miss the spindle? Is it not noticeable when you look at it? I'm having a hard time understanding where/why you need them? I'm also looking at the Coys for my kids truck.
thanks

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

I did a quick simulation, it looks like about 6-10 minutes to cut them on the mill. Maybe quicker depending how rigid the setup turns out. I will need to make a quick fixture and after that all I need is material. I did find a place to order it online: here

What are you using for material?
I may have a source for 1/4" aluminum, in small scrap pieces.
How big would each piece need to be?

Re: WTB- Coy Wheel center cap spacers

I was thinking 6061 alum. 4"X4"X.25" thick should be plenty. Let me know what you come up with.

The center caps contact the bearing cap as you tighten the lugs. If you're lucky, the caps will bulge and not break, but even so the gap looks bad.
