Oil filter cannister

Just recently purchased a 1969 C20 with a 396 engine. I want to change out all the fluids and I noticed that it doesn't have the spin on oil filter, but the cannister type. I wanted to know if there is a conversion kit to change a cannister over to the spin on filter ?

Thanks !

Re: Oil filter cannister

There sure is, just go to your local auto parts store. They MIGHT have one in the back room collecting dust. That is unless there is somebody here that has the same for sale

probably have to talk to an 'old timer' and not a key board counterman. Here we go Mr Gasket #1270

NAPA has them.

If you type "canister to spin on oil filter adapter" into Google it will come up with quite a few options.
