Some build sheet guidance

So I recently purchased a 71 c10, I only have the vin no glove box sticker. All the trim holes have been filled and painted over and I have no clue on how to figure out what model it is. It doesn't have any wood grain inserts inside so I'm sure its nothing fancy, but I would also like to know all the options purchased originally, so does any one know of a good thread or possibly any direction to go with what I have?

Re: Some build sheet guidance

Check under the seat for a copy of the build sheet.
It would be under the springs.
Also sometimes found behind gas tank.

Re: Some build sheet guidance

Here's a link to the GM Heritage Center archive. You can find the generic info for your model year pickup and perhaps get a feel for what was available.

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-...tion-kits.html

For '71: https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

Unfortunately - RPO content by VIN information (for your specific truck) is not available through the Heritage Center for US built and sold trucks before 1976 or '77.

However - if your truck was built in Canada, or built in the US for Canadian sale, then GM of Canada might have the original build content and pricing:

Barring that your only hope is to find a build sheet in the truck somewhere. They were supposed to be thrown away at the end of the line so if you do find one you should feel a debt of gratitude to the guy who didn't do his job that day.
