Driveshaft differences between a TH350 & TH400 ????
I bought a rolling shortbox frame which included a 12 bolt rear and the 2 piece drive shaft. I know the truck originally had a small block in it, so I assume it had a TH350 trans. (1970)
I am installing an original BB402 with the matching TH400 into this frame. Will the 2 piece drive shaft still work? Or were they different between the 2 ? thanks

Yes--you will have to change the front yoke to 400 style.

jhow66 is correct, the 400 is a fine spline with more teeth which makes it more heavy duty
than the 350 coarse spline.

plus depending on the tailshaft length you might have to get the driveshaft cut down

Can anyone tell me what the TH350 tail shaft length was on a '70 C-10 with a small block?

Actually that is my overall plan. This is to just get me by for now. I just want to get the truck mobile first. I can change out the driveshaft later on. I am trying to only spend my cash on stuff I NEED right now, with all the goodies later on.
