Re: What did you get done 5/17/09 edition

Got a new boat this weekend, so I tried it out twice with the nice weather. 1980 Chris Craft scorpion 210. Has a good old small block chevy in it. Put a starter in the 81 shortbox that clears the headers, and worked on the 87 plow truck. Plow truck is almost ready for a safety.

Re: What did you get done 5/17/09 edition

Got new tires on the truck on Friday. The old ones turned out to be way out of round so they credited me and I got this set for $120 out the door. I wanted bigger tires but these were a good deal so I went with it, I'll go bigger next set.

Re: What did you get done 5/17/09 edition

Today I went to a car show with 300 plus entries there was some decent cars and wile I was at show and look around at other truck for some new ideas for my truck so I decided I didn't like the braided hose covers anymore so the first thing I did when I got home was, taking them off

Cleaned up the '87 and took it to a local annual cruis-in Saturday night.

She won Best truck!!

Went to second half of even all day today. Had 192 entries. The '87 won top 25 in the '80 - Current vehicles class.

Check out the gallery of some of the vehicles present.

I agree, now if the t-bars for the VC and the diamond plate were to dissappear...it would look 110% better.

Poke- You going night fishing or what?

I spent the weekend working. I rode with my daughter to the Saturn dealership to get her oil changed, then to our local tire shop to get her tires rotated.
I ran service calls Saturday evening, and today.

Managed to do a few honey do's this morning and washed daily drivers this evening.

poke just a hing from a former jeep junkie... to protect round lights with a mesh cover the mesh must be suspended in a distance farther away from the light then the mesh can flex..
* i run mesh behind solid grill slats) otherwise the mest will only serve to hold cooked insects and retain the broken glass...

p.s. i went to a christian mens conference and i had an incredible time finding myself again...
no truck work

Re: What did you get done 5/17/09 edition

Finally got around to painting my rally wheels. The wheels are SPI Orange single stage. I've narrowed down the truck's color choices to 3. The orange wheels will be a very good contrast to the truck's future color. So, what colors are in the running? You guys will have to wait a couple 3 months.

Here's another in progress shot. I need to get a really good shot of these, the gloss and deep rich color is unbelievable.

Re: What did you get done 5/17/09 edition

Started working on the floor of my parts shed. Started stripping front suspension for my tractor that needs doing before the next truck project (it currently owns all the garage space). Hung closet doors in my daughter's room - now just blinds and finish the trim work and she'll be back in it after 3 years! NO MOLD SMELL (NO MORE DEAD CRITTERS IN THE WALLS).

Re: What did you get done 5/17/09 edition

Got the rest of the rally wheels painted and installed; pulled the speedo cable and lubed it, fixed the LH turn signal (which had stopped cancelling) - and - cleaned up the steering wheel and painted the steering column!

Oh - got all the lights burning, too (one back up lamp, both front side markers and both rear side markers were burned out).

Vacuumed/cleaned out the truck's interior for the first time since winter came.....yuck! Got the "project season" dirt/dust cleaned off the camaro and fired/broke in the new motor. Got some good street tuning done and am just about ready to make some motor passes.

That car sounds good!

Well it was wet about all weekend, but we did make it out to see the dam with all the gates open. The last time they did this is was over 5 years ago and it was only open for 4 days, this time is was open over a week, very cool to see. It you look at the top of the dam you can see all the people looking at this.

Re: What did you get done 5/17/09 edition

Finally got my truck back...had it at the shop that did my exhaust. Started hearing a squealing/squeaking noise a couple weeks ago.
Seemed to be leaking exhaust collector, got new gaskets from s&p ($$$), and now no squeaking, but SES light is still on, might need to replace that pass. side 02 sensor.
Washed it and put it back in garage. Can't wait for this weekend, got family and friends coming and staying at the beach for a few days.
