Blazer fuel tank sending units - Any best?

I'm in need of a Blazer fuel tank sending unit. Are they all the same quality wise or do any of the vendors have an edge? I've also heard there are better floats?

Anyone use this one?

Thanks, Tony

Re: Blazer fuel tank sending units - Any best?

Since nobody is answering your question - I will add some input.

I bought one from Brothers when I swapped mine over - with shipping it was the cheapest I could find - the price may have gone up since then though...it was over a year ago...

Draining the tank and dropping it to replace the sending unit is not something you want to do that often - it is kind of a pain to be honest.

That being said - I am sure that only a few companies are making these sending units anyway - so the roll of the dice might not be that bad...

The question is - is it worth your time to drop the tank again if the thing fails.

I have never used the one on Ebay - but for all I know - it might the be same exact one in my 69 Blazer now...

Yeah, I don't look forward to dropping the tank, but it is a pretty cheap repair. Don't really want to drop a bundle on a fuel cell or a fab. I guess it'll be determined by what I see when I drop the tank. I may just go with a repop tank and stockish sending unit.

Thanks for the reply,
Tony

Re: Blazer fuel tank sending units - Any best?

I purchased the same one about year and a half ago. It worked for a couple of weeks. It quit. I was so pissed I haven't repaired it yet. I can ground the wire and guage goes to full so I know guage and wiring is good. I haven't dropped tank yet to see whats going on. I have a 32 gal tank to put back in so just waiting for when I can do it. Pep Boys used to sell a universal that i used in my old blazer. It worked great but they can't find them anymore.
