What truck box sides work for 72 blazer?

Do 67-72 chevy truck 8 foot box sides work well for a 72 blazer (for patch panels)? I can get a good clean set cheap like $300 for a pair of take-offs. Is that a good deal and will they work?

thats a good deal on the take off bedsides, but i think guys are using short bedsides on the blazers, only need to cut on the front, with a lwb side you would have to cut front and back i believe.
maybe buy the lwb and sell them to a needing person and use the $$ to buy a set of swb sides?

Short bed sides work the best and you still have to trim some of the front to fit.

Just did that on my K5, have a thread over on CK5 about it.

I used the skin off a swb bedside and re-used the inners of the blazer.

Couple pics for ya:

Started here:

Cut off the outer skin:

Bedside I used:

Amount that needs to be cut off:

Fit up:

Welded:

The 6 foot bedsides are correct from the tailights to the wheel opening, they are just too long at the front. The wheel opening on an 8 foot bed is shaped the same as the 6 foot and the blazer. You would have to trim the front and rear of the 8 foot bedsides to make them work. A lot more work and welding IMHO but you "could" make it work.
