new or restored wing windows, where to buy?

where can i find the whole wing/vent window assembly?
looking for a factory look, no tint (i will add my own)
im not looking to buy a rebuild kit or anything like that, i want the whole assembly
ive used the search bar and i used google, but i can only come back to a site called car parts discount, and they want about 220$ per side. surely there is more companies out there selling new or restored wing windows. am i looking in the wrong place? and is 220$ a fair price?

Re: new or restored wing windows, where to buy?

A quick story....

-Paid about $400 to re chrome my wing windows, new glass weatherstripping, etc..
Got so frustrated I returned what I could and threw the rest away

-I then decided to go aftermarket. I bought 2 new reproduction wing windows from counter part. They looked great other then the window channel felt and the vertices bar was stainless not chrome. I put one in to check the fit and they fit like crap. To tight top and bottom and in the end just a poor reproduction. After all that I returned them.

-final attempt was to go with Rogers restored wing windows. They are absolutely perfect. The chrome re plating is show quality. The fit is excellent since they are oe wing windows. Very high quality restoration, they won't disappoint

Re: new or restored wing windows, where to buy?

I just did my vent windows. The standard aftermarket rubber is pretty bad fit wise. Takes a lot of effort to close the window. If I had it to do over again I would probably buy steele rubber ($100) which I have heard is night and day better. I know you didn't ask for a kit but if you have someone rebuild vents for you just make sure they use the good seals if you want them to actually be functional.

As far as new vent prices $220 is about par for the course. GMCPauls tends to have very competitive prices and that is what they get for them. http://www.gmcpauls.com/door_parts.htm

Also, link to RogerKoop's vent window sale thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=576998 . Sounds like he does a great job.

Re: new or restored wing windows, where to buy?

I can vouch for the quality of Roger's windows. Have a set from him waiting to be installed when I can get enough time to do it. Why buy Chinese junk when Roger's are close to the same price and he uses and restores the good old USA OEM frames....

Just my $.02 worth.

His board name is RogerKoop (last name pronounced "Cope"). I'll check when I get to the office, I may have his phone number.
