If Im not mistaken there wasnt a designation on the vin to distinguish a std cab from a crewcab before 1981 right? I have a friend with a 74 crewcab and he thought that it specified 2dr or crewcab??? I told him no.

No designation for cab type (2 door vs 4 door) in the VIN for 1974.

I clicked through all the cards and agree - it looks like the format changed for 1981.
