exhaust cutouts?
So who has them and what brand do you recommend. I've heard good and bad things about a bunch of companies, and was hoping I'd get clearer answers here.
Thanks -Mike |

Re: exhaust cutouts?
Are you looking for cable or electric operated? I've heard the electrics can be a lot of trouble.

Re: exhaust cutouts?
Either, only cable ones I can find are 2 inch diameter though so not much use for me i have 2 1/4, wish my exhaust guy had listened when I said 2.5.
But I don't mind manual-crawl-under-the-truck ones either, I saw summit sells manual ones for 40 bucks either weld or clamp, but they're just natural steel and I wouldn't want them to rust out in a few years, but I do live in Nor cal, not too wet here |

Re: exhaust cutouts?
dmh, electrics works fine for hundreds of thousands of late model performance cars. Don't bother with a 2" cutout

Re: exhaust cutouts?
My buddy has a DMH cutout on his 88 rx7 works pretty good, jammed up once though, just had to turn the car off and on and it worked. Sounded like it leaked a bit, but nothing bad. How about QTP?

Expensive too! I may just be cheap grab a pair of the summit brand ones for 42 bucks cut get em welded by a friend, and when i saved enough dough get the electric attatchemnts for the summit ones I have.

Re: exhaust cutouts?
I've got a set of 3" Race Readies by FlowTech welded in right to the flange behind the collectors. Three wingnuts that came with a little tool made to loosen/tighten them. Kinda sucks having to shimmy under it since it's lowered, but a lot cheaper then elecrtrics, and for as often as their opened, eletrics aren't worth it.
