68 short step project

I`m planning on putting in an ls1and a 6speed. I have pretty much everything figured out what I want to do to it except for the interior. I know I want bucket seats and want to removed the gas tank from the cab. The center console is whats troubling me. I want it to go from the dash down the center and come up the back with the seat line. I was thinking of having one made out of fiberglass. I`m thinking of using procar rally 1000 or elite 1000 series seats. I would really appreciate some picture to point me in the right direction.

Pictures of what? People with bucket seats? People that made up their own center console? I plan on doing the same thing as you but until I decide on a drivetrain I can't start. Can you fiberglass yourself? Look into just using MDF or steel and then using fabric to cover it.

I think that your answer lies with fitting the seats in, taking careful measurements and then fabbing up a console from scratch. That way, you'll get exactly what you want.

Re: 68 short step project

I want pictures of consols with buket seats. I know it will have to be fabbed up to fit the seats. I just want to get some ideas on what would look good or how I might go about it. I dont care if its fiberglass, wood, or sheetmetal, or a mixture. I would like to see some with 6speeds.
