Question Bent Frame?

We just finished installing new cab/rad mounts and new stock springs on all four corners of a friends c10.
The problem is the rear passenger side wheel arch is two inches higher off the rear wheel than the driver's side rear wheel arch.
The body lines match up, but the wheel arch is higher on the rear passenger side. The wheels are all the same so I'm thinking bent frame, what do you all think?
Thanx in advance
Dano

Re: Bent Frame?

Did you happen to or can you measure the two rear springs to see how they compare to each other? I wonder if one is a lowering spring and one is stock height.

Re: Bent Frame?

Both springs are new came in the same box and both were the same height.
We switched the springs and the same problem, the passenger side wheel arch is higher.

I was also wondering if it could be a bent trailing arm. Since the bed lines up with the cab.

Re: Bent Frame?

I agree with southcity. Could be a problem with springs. You can put your truck on 4 jack stands that are the same height on a flat and level cement floor. 2 near the front cab bolts and 2 back from that, near the rear of the cab, just in front of where the frame rails kickup. Let the suspension hang free, even if you have to take off the tires. So now your truck should be basically level with the floor. This will eliminate all variables except the frame. Then bust out the tape measure. Take comparable measurements for each side, from the floor up to the frame rail. Write them down. If there is a problem with the frame it's probably just a little twisted. Don't freak out if it is bent, this is an easy fix for a good frame man. ED67C20
