We all like junkyard pics heres some

Sorry they are snow covered and crappy pics but all I had was my phone. They are stacked in like cord wood you can hardly get the doors open on some of them. They are crushing at this yard so their fate doesn't look good

Dude, if those buckets are original, but have been recovered, you can get TOP dollar for those.

Re: We all like junkyard pics heres some

Kinda sucks, it looks like that pale blue 69-72 longbed (the one with no hood, grill or PS fender) has a pretty nice and straight bed, cab, doors and fender... kind of a shame.... the rest look kinda trashed.

Also, go back and get any straight 67-68 grills

Re: We all like junkyard pics heres some

I knew the buckets would get some attention thats why I took the pic. They were all intact and by the wear I would say they were original. This place lets you pick about anything you want for less than $100.

I'll give you the $100 for the seats plus some money for your time if you are willing to get them for me. I am in Northern Illinois and am traveling to Iowa for Christmas, maybe we could get together then. PM me if we can make something work. Thanks,

Re: We all like junkyard pics heres some

Central MN, near Brainerd. Most of the sheetmetal is junk but there is alot of good parts left. I should go get those seats because from what I have seen they are pretty valuable. There was another 6 or so 3/4 tons out there and some 1/2 tons I didn't take pics of. It was to damn cold.

Re: We all like junkyard pics heres some

I believe the Government should create a new office. They should call it something along the lines of “Elderly Automobile Recycling Commissioner”. Of course I would suggest that they appoint yours truly to this position. I would travel across the country and give old vehicles the proverbial “thumbs up” or down depending on the circumstances (pintos and gremlins). I would then adopt all of the survivors and make sure that they went to a good home. All of these pictured would, of course, be spared…or at least parted out!

Re: We all like junkyard pics heres some

When you get the buckets, make sure to get the gas tank guard that is screwed to the cab back. 3 or 5 small phillips screws. This guard is often overlooked but helps prevent damage to the sending unit and fuel lines as they exit the tank. I think the whole bucket frame only has 4 bolts - 2 on each side. Very easy to pull them.

Hate to burst a bubble here, those are dodge seats not chevy/gmc. i've had a few sets of those over the years. the frame is totally different from a chevy frame. they were both made by bostrom and the dodge seats will bolt right up to a chevy frame.around here you can pick up the dodge version for 50-75 dollars. they were used in 75-78 era dodges.

Well that is interesting. They did look like a factory install. but I don't know any better mine had a bench. I plan on finding some newer style split bench or buckets for my project.

Re: We all like junkyard pics heres some

there's a chance someone mounted them on a chevy frame (i've done it a couple of times). i just didn't want you to spend top dollar on something that's not original. the dodge seats are actually very comfortable and if the frame is done correctly i'd say go for them, providing the price is right.
