Emblems for 1970 blazer???
I was wondering if anyone knows what emblem is supposed to go on the front fender under the sidelight on a 1970 350V8 4 wheel drive blazer. I have seen the "8 350" emblem and also the "4 wheel drive" emblem. Which is right??

Neither.
On a 71/72, then there would be badges there, but on a 70, there was nothing. Wait a min, the 4wheel drive badge...I've never seen one so i can't say. But the 350 badge goes under the C/10 or what ever badge is on the fender. |

Mine
This is what mine had on it and it is a very original 70 CST blazer bought from the original owner who had everything done on it by someone else....even the oil changes- so I wouldn't think he would change it.

Pound41 is correct. For 1970 the "4 Wheel Drive" emblem is under the marker light, and the engine displacement emblem ("8 350") is under the "K/5 Blazer" emblem. 1970Blazin's truck must have been a 6 cylinder.

For 69/70 a Chevy 4x4 would have the "4 Wheel Drive" under the side marker light, and the CID displacement under the fender badge. The CID badges were for OPTIONAL engines KS VINS having 250 six standard and KE VINS having the 307 standard. The only correct CID badges were 292 and 350 (4x4's did not have the 396/402 BB).
For 71/72 the "4 wheel Drive" emblem was deleted and the CID badges were moved under the side marker. The CID badges remained 292 and 350. If you think about this change, it makes sense. 71/72 introduced the trim packages "Custom Deluxe" and "Cheyenne Super". A truck so equipped had an additional badge under the fender badge that read "Deluxe" or "Super". Since 4x4's were a small part of the overall sales, deep sixing the "4 Wheel Drive" emblem made sense. Otherwise you'd have a "stack" of emblems under the fender badge which would look odd. For the record, 67/68 trucks (2 or 4wd) never had CID badges, though I'm ot clear on whether the "4 Wheel Drive" emblem was used. This also does not address GMC's as they did things differently. I have 2 72 GMC's w/o the 4wd emblem and have had a 70 with. I've never seen a CID emblem on a GMC.

The vin # for my 70 blazer says it was a 350 originally. I am still lost. I haven't ever seen one with the 8 350 under the K/5 and mine doesn't have that.

Wait...did you say KE means it is originally a 307? My vin# starts KE180S... Does that mean it should be a 307?

The Blazer and such never would of had a 307 emblem as it was original equipment on a KE V8 ordered truck... if it was ordered with an optional 350 then it would have an emblem that said 350.
Same goes for the 6 cylinders... original equipment was a 250 in a KS ordered vehicle... if you ordered an optional 292 then it would of had 292 emblem. Had a couple 70 4x4's and thats the way its been on mine.

A much as you read about what they all had as far as how the rules apply to what was supposed to go on these truck. In many cases there are exception. For example I have seen 71/72 with 69/70 metal shift indicators and so on. I have a 69 camaro and after I spent major bucks to have it painted I went to put all new emblems on it. The camaro that goes on the rear decklid that is listed as a piece on all camaros had no holes I new the decklid was orginial and had no holes. I was afraid to drill it and confused. Started looking at every 69 I could. For everyone I found that had one I found 2 that didn't.
