soon to be 2wd!

this is my 70 cst blazer that i bought at a impound auction. only thing wrong was it was out of gas! came with 8000# warn winch on front(that was removed for other use) 350/4spd factory yellow. it came from montana and is extremely solid. top is in great shape also. is this the factory seat? what gear ratio came with this engine/trans combo? by the way it was $600 bucks.

Re: soon to be 2wd!

Nice score!!...
That is not a factory seat.. dont have a clue as to what it may be out of..

Generally with a 350/4spd combo the gear ratio is more than likely 3:73's..

If you have any questions when you go to convert it to 2WD feel free to send me a note.. I have done a bunch of conversions.

Re: soon to be 2wd!

Looks like a good score. Where was this impound yard auction?

The seat looks like a boat seat to me.

I couldnt imagine sitting in the blazer driving with a seat like that.$600 was a good deal for the Blazer though

Re: soon to be 2wd!

tacoma towing was the impound yard. hey livrat i called you a couple weeks ago and all i am waiting for is some decent weather. getting the vidio camera charged up so i can record the conversion from 4wd to 2wd. going to use 73'-87' parts in the conversion for the 5-lug. are the stock seats the same as the ones that came in the trucks? could i bolt in a bench seat instead of buckets. thanks

Re: soon to be 2wd!

Truck seats are the same, but for buckets, the passenger side brackets are different. The Blazer passenger side tilts forward for access to the backseat. I'm sure you could use the stationary brackets out of a pickup if you don't need it to tilt.

There's an impound lot right behind my office in Bellevue. I keep an eye on it, but I'll I ever see there is junk. They have an auction every month or so.

Re: soon to be 2wd!

Mine has the 350, 4 speed combo and it has 3.07's. I sometimes wish mine did have 3.73's but then highway cruising wouldn't be as comfortable.

Re: soon to be 2wd!

There should be a tag on one of the bolt covers.

Re: soon to be 2wd!

If it is a possi there will be a tag on one of the bolts for the back plate. If not you need to read the letters and numbers on top of the right side axle tube. They can be translated through the GM master Parts Catolog. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
