700R4 trans f/s


this is out of 86 to 90 camaro it had a 350 eng. worked find when pulled out $250.00.

if its a 700, it shouldn't need a controller, but the tv cable setup is crucial to not ruining it on your first drive.

thanks fred i don't know much about the 700's but was told they are a fairly easy swap to our 67/72 trucks.

I think the physical dimensions are very similar to a turbo 400. The crossmember might have to slide back for the mount to be in the right place.

The "hard" part of these swaps is always that cable. Bowtie Overdrives has a decent site that explains the tv cable. Of course they are also more than happy to sell you their solution to the problem as well.

This swap is on my list of things to do one day. This trans has a lower (3.06 i think) first gear than either a turbo 350 or 400 to get you moving, then the benefit of overdrive in 4th gear.

Good price if the trans can be swapped in and run as is
