Got a Problem
I got my truck back together today and turned it over. No Fire. I talked to two mechanics and I've got my ignition hooked up right. Red distributor wire to the positive side of the coil. Negative distributor wire to negative coil side. positive ignition to wire to the positive coil side. Negative ignition to the negative coil. Does that sound right to you guys? I have a new coil, new cap and rotor. New spark plugs. Plug wires. Could it be the ignition box? The mechanic told me that they seldom go out. It is just one of those little white boxes. I appreciate any input.

Well looking at a wiring diagram and it says, neg(-) side of coil goes to the dizzy. Pos (+) side of the coil should have a purple (resistor wire) wire that goes intop the firewall body plug, and is 12v(before resistor) keyed. Should also have another wire ( can't remember the color) going down to the starter solenoid, for full 12v when starting.
If'n that don't work, run a 12v jumper from the bat to the Pos side of the coil and give it a try. Don't run it too long in that state or you will melt down the coil.

Is this a stock distributor with points? You have two wires coming from the distributor? The little white box? Could this be a ballast resistor?
