Re: Tonka

I like everything but the Tonka name.Tonka made Fords anyway.I`m sure the drivetrain is medium duty GM.It`s just a medium duty with a pickup bed.

Turn that into a 4x4 and that truck would really rock.

I'm not a huge fan of the Tonka. I like it, but think that is a fairly sizable truck to be being pushed by a 350?

10 grand for a yellow truck with old blue seats out of some 80’s Japanese car and no carpet or rubber mat? Ah, NO…

Other than those minor details, it is pretty cool.

One thing's for sure, you would get a little respect from other drivers when you're out on the road.

We had a 1970 Chevy C50 grain truck on the farm for years that had a 350 in it. Wasn't fast by any means, but with a full load of grain shifting all 4 speeds and splitting each shift with the 2 speed axle, it wouldn't do too bad.

Re: Tonka

I`d take that truck and put bright trim on the front,CST or Cheyenne trim,tilt/ac/buckets,stainless mirrors, chrome Budds, factory p/u color...

It looks like the bed is widened.A cool piece of work.I like it better than the Fleetsides I`ve seen.

A majority of them in this area have either 350s or even 292 inline 6 cylinders. They usually have 2 speed rearends to help them get the load moving.
