HA! I'm wondering this same thing as well, I have a '90 roller in the garage sitting waiting for someone else to go first! Let me know how it goes, and take pics...

Re: Anyone Runnin a 90's Chassis?

There's member with a 'Burb on a late model chassis. He didn't swap it but bought it that way.I've seen it and it was done very cleanly.I looked it over and can say,I think it would be way less work to buy a bare 67-72 chassis and build it for a body swap. That may just be because I like the simpler early chassis but that's what I would do. I can't remember Geoff's Board name but there are pics of his 'Burb on the site.
IIRC they even blended the inner fenders to make it look like it grew that way.

Re: Anyone Runnin a 90's Chassis?

I had a 2wd roller for a while there just to wide and the frame was guna hang below the body a lot. To do it right u need to basically channel the body or (body drop) the cab. But I think a 4wd would work better because you can build mount off the frame and put a small body lift on. That's what I found anyway

Re: Anyone Runnin a 90's Chassis?

I understand you are going for another truck.
As far as using a late model frame and running gear under our old trucks, a year or so back someone posted a 69-70 Chevy stepside on an early to mid 90's frame with fuel injected 5sp drivetrain complete. May have been 4wd. The truck was said to have been owned by a band member, maybe Steve Van Zant. From what I remember it was put together very well. The late model frames and suspension are nothing like our trucks so some fab n mod is to be expected.
For others who may be interested in such a swap.
