GMC to chevy

Simple question. how many people have a gmc and have put chevy sheet metal(grille/tailgate) on them? or vise versa. i have a 67 gmc currently. triing to pick up a 69 c10 with a spare 67 c10 front clip with it. i`m starting to like the c10 grille from that year(67). if i do that i would change my gate over to match. right now my gmc grille is painted black. I`m wanting some chrome on my truck, but repo grilles are out because of the qualtiy of them. rechroming is most likely out because of the price. now after looking after a few pictures of chevys i`m liking the painted grille with the chrome headlight bezels and 2 trim rings. would get met some chrome, but not a ton. just curious if i`m alone in my thinking.

heres a pic of mine now

and one of my new rims/tires. craiger black soft 8`s with goodyears.

Re: GMC to chevy

If you want to stay with the '67 Chevy, you'll just need to change out the grill and radiator support. You can cut the GMC headlights mounts off the GMC radiator support and add headlight clips, springs, etc, but its easier just to change out the support IMO.

Re: GMC to chevy

Oh I almost forgot, you'll need to change the bumper out too. The Chevy bumper doesn't have the parking light cut outs.

Re: GMC to chevy

a 67 GMC shouldn't have the cutouts either.
I have a 70 chevy longhorn dressed up 99% like a GMC. Grill, (fenders hood and core support) badges on the hood, tail gate, emblim on the console lid& hub caps too.
Bummer I did all that and am now thinking I need a 68 chevy grill on there.

Re: GMC to chevy

if i get this parts lot it has a complete front clip from a 67 c10(inner fenders are junk, but rest is good). my core support on my gmc needs work anyways. i know what needs changing, just wondering how many do it. plus it would open up a few more parts for me to sell. was actually thinking of using front and rear roll pans. i`m likeing the looks of them. but thats up in the air yet.

Re: GMC to chevy

front roll pans require cutting the front frame horns off... no going back to a bumper without some good welding. NYDOT may have a problem with that... I know they are always giving big trucks a hard time on every DOT reg, dunno about cars/light trucks though.
There have been many many people who do chevy noses on GMC trucks.

Re: GMC to chevy
