Key will not go to ACC.

Anyone know how to fix the key cylinder so it will move back to acc? This is in a 87 suburban.

Re: Key will not go to ACC.

I had a worn out lock cylinder in one of my trucks that did the same thing. Eventually it jammed completely and I had to replace it. Replacing it with a new lock cylinder cured the problem.

Re: Key will not go to ACC.

Just replace it get a steering wheel puller from auto zone and buy an ignition and key while your there, they are only like 20 bucks, with the key, slide the old one out, put the new one in, put the steering wheel back on and your done!

Re: Key will not go to ACC.

Did you try pushing the key inwards or upwards or both while you were turning it? Or jiggle it a bit while you turn it?
