Header woes
Can anyone help me find a set of decent headers that will fit and not drag the ground. All I have seen are 400$ headers that well...wont provide 400$ worth of H.P. Any help would be nice. Thanks

I herd headmans were pretty good, hooker is another choice but a bit pricier. Stay away from flowtech I have herd some horror stories about them

I have the new Hedman 69010 headers. made for our trucks and sit above the frame for maximum clearance on lowered C10s. Mine were $192 shipped and were later on sale at Jegs. Here is a thread about these headers. I have not yet installed mine but member Cubber has and there are pics of his.

I've had so many brands of headers over the years I can't list them all (or remember). I've never had any headers that hang below the frame. If they hang that low they're either not the correct application or made poorly by cheezy company. Just go with a quality header and you'll be good. They can be had for a reasonable price.

If your rig is lowered more than 4"... which it sounds like it is. You will need to run 3/4 length or shorty headers. Pretty much the only options you will have with a lowered truck. Unless you have some custom long tunes made.

I bought a set from TKorinek here on the board. They were $225 as I recall and they ride about 1" lower than the frame. The collector flanges are not fixed which allows you to rotate them to the point of best clearance. Sorry I don't have under truck pics.
Also both sides were easy to install from the top. They came with gaskets and reducers but did NOT come with bolts.

Doug Thorley tri-Y. I have the 3/4's, I believe. The collector adapters stuck out below the frame at a 45 degree. I took my truck to a custom exhaust shop and told them I did not want to see the pipes below the frame. He pie cut collector to flow straight back and eliminated the adapter.

Chevelle headers will work on your truck and they tuck up higher in the frame i have them on my truck

I just installed the new headman shorty headers, fit well no leaks, and dont hang low
