2" dropped front crossmember (Turner)

I havent been on here in a while as I have been building two Hot rod trucks, one of which a different make.

Anyway, I have had this Turner Ent. crossmember for a while with plans of using it on my next truck 67-72 project.

I know there have been many advancements and new ideas but what would be the best front-end setup for a 67-87 pickup.

I am not looking to bag it or lay frame but would it still be a good idea to use the Turner crossmember for a super low static drop or should I just sell it and go spindle & spring up front.

Not any more. Another one of those 'bite off more than they can chew' places. More than one unhappy customer has complained on this forum about Turner. He might still be doing stuff just on a smaller, less public scale.

The Turner set-up can work. If you already have it, there's no sense losing money on it. Spindles are still a good idea even w/the crossmember. Did you get the entire kit (c.member & lower a-arms)?

Just to reiterate what Scoti said, there is no reason your Turner set up won't work.

So you're the one who actually received his order?

Which version is it? Does it have Tube arms? And are you comfortable with the geometry? My understanding is that he had some "issues" with the geometry on some of the few he actually made. If you're OK with it, use it. If not, you may want to go back to a stock xmember and do springs and spindles. That will take the front awfully low for a static drop.

I also agree that there is no reason not to use the x-member. I will say I must be one lucky guy cause I had good luck with Bill Turner Ent. But I appearantly am the only one who has been 100% satisfied with all of my business with AIM ind/ Chassis Tech too. Maybe I need to look into lotto tickets afer all.

I did a 68 a few years back with BTE mod your own x-member kit , rear notch and weld on drop perches. IIRC everthing showed up as promised and on time. Got the 2.5 " drop spindles from chassis tech same deal. I have used alot of companies that I see get bashed on forums all the time with great success. The irony of my situation is the only company to leave me hanging is one that everyone raves about and says how Super Duper they are. weird.

I have some Bill Turner Arms, His stuff will work. It might need a little massaging though. Do you have the 2" drop crossmember with the rack pinion. Do you got his tube arms?
I met Bill and he was a nice guy....but was spread thin and a little unorganized.
Try the stuff out, what is the worst thing that could happen....it doesn't work. Then buy new stuff.

Turner was always cool with me, i think he also had some health issue, i have a buddy that got one a long time ago never installed it it had some bugs to work out

my uncle was actually getting his truck built by bill turner i guess when he got sick he wasn't able to finish so my uncle had to finish piecing it together which he had a headache trying to and i guess my uncle had him build him the adjustable control arms which i guess bill used them on a different project and never came through with another set but other than that i think his work is pretty good
