I took a test drive today...

I haven't been posting pics of what I'm doing to my truck because it's so minor compared to most of the builds on this forum, but here goes a couple. I took it for a drive around the neighborhood today to try out the new brakes and steering. It definitely drives and stops better than it did the last time I drove it, which was when I first got it. I used disc brake and p/s kits that came from CPP. I have a couple of leaks to fix but overall I'm pleased.
My original plan was to paint it light blue but now I'm going to put in a couple of patch panels in the front cab corners and put it back together and drive it for a while.
BTW, I have a perfect painted grill and bumpers that I would like to sell cheap if anyone is interested.

Right on, nice looking cab you got there. Any funny looks while you booted around with no panels? Wicked.

I almost took mine for a spin in similar condition but I couldn't be bothered to clean up the space enough to get out.

Did you keep the front and rear leafs stock or did you pull some out?

Reason I ask is, I pulled two out of the front and rear and wanted to know how it rode.

I don't think any leaves have been removed. My front springs have six leaves and rears have seven. I think my springs have sagged from old age ( kind'a like me, LOL.) It sits a little lower than it did originally but I like it and I'm going to leave it like it is for now. It felt pretty stiff when I drove it today but with no bed or front sheet metal it doesn't have much weight on it, so might improve when it's all together.

That looks like it would be a gas to drive around the neighborhood.

It was fun, and of course, I had to do one burnout. Everyone in my subdivision is used to seeing me drive some partially assembled truck up and down the street so I don't think they think much about it anymore. I was polite enough to put the exhaust system back on before taking the test drive, LOL. It has FloMasters and is pretty quiet.

Here's pics of the grill and bumpers that I mentioned in my post. These were the pics from CL when I bought it..
