Re: weather stripping
did you put it on both surfaces? i used some cloths pins to help hold it for a little while and lots of rubbing and squizing while instaling

Re: weather stripping
The clothes pin trick works great!. I am planning to use the mid 80's S-10 truck/Blazer weatherstripping because it's better quality and it's pressed on with NO glue!

Re: weather stripping
I used the blue painters tape, since I didn't have any clothes pins. That worked good also.

Re: weather stripping
I got some door rubber from a round body S-10 single cab (don't know the year) & put it on my black truck
It's about 3" too short, but it could be that I didn't stretch it enough when I put it on (I was on the phone & holding a flashlight) It seals really tight, so I may have to adjust my door a bit so I don't have to slam it shut Last edited by Spray-Bomb; 11-03-2007 at 10:14 AM. |

Re: weather stripping
Get the black 3M weatherstripping stuff. Works well. Apply a thin bead to both sides of the door jam. Also, apply a thin bead to the inside of both sides of the weatherstripping. I'd only do a couple feet at a time. Let it dry for a couple minutes so it's tacky. That's when you need to install it. If you install it right after you apply it it's not going to stick and just slide/fall off.
I installed used S-10 stuff of a 89 or something like that. It's too thick and I don't like it. My doors are aligned well and over a year later I still have to slam the doors to close them (and push on them a little when I lock them.)

Re: weather stripping
Thanks for the tips....I wish I would have known there was black 3M goo cuz now my rubber has some nasty green/yellow marks.
I wish this stuff was eaiser to use.....some one should design a push on that fits our trucks
