I have seen some ads and some post with guys getting one-piece windows.

like this one.

My question is, is there window from a different truck year to swap out or is all a custom cut window?

Two companies make one piece window conversion kits for the trucks.

Re: One-piece window

So, I guess it is all custom?

The brothers has a decent price for 2 windows.

A lot of people on here complain about the fit and functionality of the one piece windows.

The brothers kit looks a heck of a lot easier to install than the onepieceproducts kit.

Re: One-piece window

I have the OPP style windows in my truck and I really enjoy them. They are a pain in the butt to put in but atleast you dont have that triangular piece in the corner. The only gripe I have against the OPP windows is that you either have to have the window all the way up or all the way down. If not the door latch is contacted and the door will come open. Atleast that is my experience with them. But all parts were quality pieces and the instructions are pretty clear.

That would be reason enough for me to go a different route. I like to have my window only half ways down sometimes.

Re: One-piece window

I like the way the OPP glass looks without the front corner piece but the way it installs is kind of cheesy to me. Glue on scrapers instead of clip in and eliminating the rear chanel as well as modding the door latch. Don't care for the crappy little door stop either. I'm going with the Brothers product in mine, I sure wish it didn't have that little corner piece though. Probably put a mirror on there to make it "go away".

The door stop on the OPP setup looks like it uses the fender. If so what if a gust slammed the door against the stop, wouldn't that put a big bow in the fender? Or am I not seeing it right?

Re: One-piece window

They changed the door stop a year or so ago. It's better, but still opens quite a bit. I just tacked on a couple spacers so it doesn't open so much.

I guess I'm lucky as mine work fine.... and the door has never opened

To be honest, I only have the window all the way down or up because half way down there's not much holding the window as it's only in the rear track... would be the same for all one piece windows I imagine.

Plus, in Bakersfield, there's really only 2 seasons; hot as hell or cold & foggy. So the windows get a lot of usage
