Need to replace steering column 1965

I have a 3 speed column shift and what to convert the shift to the floor.
The current column has wiring problems, trun signal not working.

Any suggestions? ...The wiring connections has the old shoe horn style
I'm wanting to stay original and just find a 65/66 column with not shift.

I found a 62 colunm but the wiring is different. .....

I don;t know if this is exaclty what ure looking for, but LMC Truck has remanufactured columns, both shift on the colomn and off. There a little pricy, but they are tilt and such.

van columns with the ign sw on the dash up to around 1980 will work look through the faq's for info. You could just get a new switch (normally the culprit) and cut off the shifter nub and fill it for cheap

The cheapest thing would be to do the switch and fill the nub in, I would check the bearings/bushings though if you have it apart.

Re: Need to replace steering column 1965

years ago the 66 I had I just lubed the bearings and shimed the loose one , your best bet for bearings is to remove the old ones and try to match them up based on dimensions maybe napa could help you or bearings inc. (now goes by a new name not sure of it)
