I'm going to have to drill for the two pieces on the front and back which have two screws each. Not happy about drilling any new holes after paint.
JB weld the screwheads in the holes and then use a stick-on clip on the end.

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread

This weekend I will work on the trim. It,s going to snow, again. Not to mention the week end before christmas, but I am going to squeeze it in when I can. Today I ordered a new C-notch from CPP. Man I got to get the back down with the front. I'm thinking the front needs another 1'' to 1'' 1/2 down. That height would be perfect. Thought for the future.

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread

Here's some progress pics. Passenger side is finished. The kit only came with 24 clips and that only leaves three on some of the longer pieces. For extra strength I added silicon in between.

Tell me if you think this isn't straight enough:

The suburban is starting to look pretty sweeeeeeet!

Wow what a nice project. I love your color combo yellow is one of my favorites. You have done a very nice job with color and stance. Great wheel choice also. Can't wait to see what you do with the interior after the great job you have done on the exterior.

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread

Thanks everyone for the support. I finished up the driver's side trim. I cut off the screw ends and glued them into place too. The cold weather made it more difficult because the double sided tape wouldn't stick.

Thank you Mar K Quality Parts. The fit and finish is excellent.

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread

I have started my custom kick panel speaker boxes in between putting the trim on. I've looked at some people have done on here, including the one Frizzle Fry made, and have a good idea of what I want. I also have a custom center console and rear woofer boxes in the works.

They make some much smaller bumpstops (1/2") if you want to be able to go lower in the rear.

Rob. The kit came with the 1/2'' bumpstops. I was worried about the rear hitting the wood floor. So I bought taller ones. I can always cut them later. The upper bag bracket need to be modified also. I can't wait to see your body on that clean frame.

With the short bumpt stops the rear differential cover just barely touches the wood floor. What bags are you running? I used ART. I can't wait until mine is as done as yours, .

The bags are AIM 2600s and are just like Firestones.

19723DR,... I think you would like the ride better if you install some shock "relocators" from ECE. I didn't realize how much my shocks WEREN'T working without them. They stand the shocks up more vertically,... so they work. I think before, they were just pivoting on the bolts. Oh yeah, love your 'burban!

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread

I got time this weekend to work on my kick panels. I used fleece to stretch over a wooden frame and used fiberglass resin. Then I smoothed them out with body filler, sanded them down until they were smooth and primed them. I'll have to wait until it's warmer to paint them yellow.

I've been working on the center console for the last few months. I'm going to move the gauge and switches for the air suspension from where they are but here's how looks now.

Picked up some front and rear seats from a 2001 Suburban. The fronts fit fine but the rear brackets will need modification. Here they are:

First person to try out the seats:

Re: 1972 3dr Suburban Build Thread

I found these seats on car-part.com and paid $375 for all of them. Didn't get the 3rd row because they wanted $500 just for that. Here are some pics of the rear seats. I cut part of the rear mounting bracket off so they fit with more leg room. I still need to clean them up, drill holes, mount them and wire them up.
