Huck just left here with a bran-used Blazer
Huck just left here dragging home the 71 K/5 I had mentioned on HERE a week ago or so. (already on the 5th page too!)
After gettin here around 2:15 and BS'in for an hr or so, we managed to make it north of here through the BS traffic. (Columbus drivers get pretty stoooopid...esp up north) After looking at it in the day, it did look worse than when i first looked at it. (I probably wouldn't have mentioned it @ $600 if I had seen the thing in the light) Huck Looked at it and listened to it and bought it...chewed the price down pretty good too. I took a hand full of pics, some he saw me doin...others he didn't see.  I'll post them all in case he wants them...plus...I love pics...we all know that.  (not sure if I am listing them right...or bass ackwards...but here we go.) Here we are goin through my neighbor hood...always loved mirror shots for some reason...I know...I'm nuts.  A good shot of my mile long hood and his H.D. kick @ss trailer. I don't even think my GMC could haul that trailer very well on the freeway, let alone with a 4X4 on it. But my truck is a wuss when it comes to towin things. Look at the true truck-aholic hubcaps on the trailer...cool huh? This isn't huck's rig...I thik it is the Evil twin of Huck's ride. This was the neighbor of the guy who had the K/5. the truck never moves. Had to jump this beast off...you didn't think a parts truck could start on it's own did you? |

I was hopin to get a shot of the beast driving up onto the trailer...but I ended up behind the wheel, (
 ) and it just didn't seem 'right' to stop 1/2 way up the ramps for a photo op...esp with a kickin thunder storm headin in. I did try to do a quick little bark on the rear tires, but the engine was still kinda cold and as soon as I nailed the gas, I chickened out wonderin if it might stall and have to jump it off again. That woulda sucked since we were blocking a public street.  Huck has his head under the beast...I think he was trying to test his tetnis shot out. (I know my spelling sucks) The other guy is the seller...my UPS guy Randy. Like I said...a storm was movin in, and it came down pretty good too, but it was short lived. Gettin on the freeway... Here I am passing him...dig the shrunken head on the dash! And here I am getting ready to pull off on my exit as he was heading south bound on I-270. This was about 6 PM Ohio time, he was heading to Jamie's place in indiana and then home...so he has some pavement to pound on. As always...seeing members is awsome. I think this is the 4th time we have seen each other, always interesting stories, always raggin on me. (He think's I'm a schmuck...I know, he told me) But always a good time. Hope you get to use more than just the new altenator that's on there! |

Huck, you coming down to mike's next month? I just found an engine for the GMC... I'll think about what you said...meanwhile, you think of an offer...as it is, or with a stock 350 with external bolt ons.

Man, those pics remind me of the trip to Dallas with Yukon Jack to pick up his K5. Only his didn't run, and the tires were leaking air about as fast as we could put it, LOL!

Thanks Andy for all your help in getting this jewel. Other then a good hood, there is not ONE piece of sheet metal worth saving. This booger is so rusted that the underside is almost not there!! Jamie and I will part it out next week and see what the drive line looks like. Parts trucks are always a gamble unless you get them dirt cheep and have a need. The time and labor to disassemble often eat into any profit potential that may exist so unless you like tourching and wrenching, find a buddy who parts them out and buy from them. Makes life much easier. Huck
