Ok guys I need advice here. I have done body work... or should I say I was trying to do body work...this was when I was a teen. A friend of mines dad had a carlot/bodyshop. They tried for 3 years to teach me body work. I was told at the end there I should stay away from doing body work. I was told I was a hell of a painter. But the worst bodyman they ever seen! Ok after 25 years I am trying again. This time I have no pressure. I have been getting some dents out. I have had to fill a couple. It seems like when I sand...maybe I am over doing it? It seems the dents are still there. I was told feather it out till the dent wasnt visible. So guys I need some advice here. I really want to do this whole thing on my own.

I'd say more filler and block across the whole area in an X pattern. I bet you could find some video of this on youtube.

big j is right cross hatch your sanding pattern. also when you block sand spray a very very light black spray on your work area and this will tell you where youre actually sanding and where your low spots are. when feeling, close your eyey too so your not looking for the low spot but actually feeling for it. I know sounds dumb but thats what helps me.

I'm not a body person either, but I've done some in the past. A friend once told me to use a lady's stocking to feel for high and low spots. Make sure it's an old, non useable one, otherwise you may be in deep doodoo. You just can't "borrow" one like I did.

I use to use just a shop towel for this, worked very well. After a while your hands go numb if you don't

Your best friend while doing this type of work will be the good old fashioned long board. Try the tried and true wood with the metal base model for starters, and practice, practice and more pratice.

It's not too easy at first, but when you get the hang of it your work will shine through.

I have been going slow at it. Its been almost a month and one side of the cab is almost done!

I am not in rush.
