'60-'61 Apache 40 info needed

I'm looking for info on '60/'61 Apache 40s...
What was their rating? 3/4-ton, 1-ton, 2-ton?

What front suspension did they have under them?

I found a stake-bed Apache 40 with dual rear wheels, with matching front wheels, but it has regular pickup-style front fenders, not the big truck fenders with the flares.

I'm thinking it was a medium-duty farm truck back in the day, but I don't know what it's real capabilities were.

The chassis, bed and cab, hood, grill and surround are in excellent shape. Doors and fenders are throw-aways. The wheels are in excellent shape, with the black factory paint still on them (same with the exposed part of the frame under the bed... It was barn-kept for years by the looks of things). The rims are 1pc, too--not the split-rim widow makers.

I'm seriously considering buying it later this year.

they have the torsion bar independant front suspension.

c 50 was the first series for the fender flares and the big truck frame.

There's a original plate screwed to the face of the glovebox... Someone pried the glovebox open and destroyed the door, but the dash is still fine, and that plate is still on there. I was intent on getting the original hazard light switch out from under the dash, and didn't spend time looking at the specs on that plate. I'll pay attention to it next time, and shoot a pic.
It's held on with small sheetmetal screws, but they don't go through the glove box door's inner panel.

Chevy C40 & GMC 3000 would be bigger than what you would call a 1 ton, they were only built from 1960 to 1962, so its a rare model. they have the torsion bar front end under them. This is the Larger of the smaller trucks, they called them Apache from 1960-61, the next size class of truck, starting at the C50 would be called a Viking.

If you can get one I say buy it.
