Re: does anyone know

Any GM front axle '71 or newer will bolt right in. '87 was basically the last year of solid front axles ('91 for Blazers and Suburbans). Axles from 1977 and later will be a corporate 10 bolt instead of a Dana 44, but they will still bolt in. Actually, axles older than '71 will bolt in also, but they will have drum brakes.

Re: does anyone know

ball joints and brakes are all the same for open knuckle axles. any solid axle from a solid axle truck or blazer/burban will fit.

the 67-72 open knuckle axles do use the smaller 267 ujoint but the shaft are a straight swap with the new 73+ d44 297 ujoint shafts.

all the parts from the axle C out are the same for the 10b/d44, all the inner part are NOT interchangable.
