Emissions in Texas
I got a questions for any fellow Texans. I live in Harris County which requires an emissions test in addition to the safety inspection and I know there's no way my truck is going to pass with it's current setup. Does anybody know if they exempt older vehicles or am I going to have problems?

Re: Emissions in Texas
It is a 24 or 25 year exemption, so our trucks are exempt.

Re: Emissions in Texas
I agree. I had to inspect mine when I bought it a couple months ago. It's just a safety inspection. They looked under the hood, but didn't say a word about my open-element air cleaner.
BTW, it's only $13.50 for the safety inspection. Otherwise it's $39.50. There's only two different inspections they offer, so it will be one of the two prices I mentioned. Yours should be $13.50.
