Calling all 4WD's (and others)

OK, so I hope all of you (and Racedvl) will forgive me, ‘cause this is not a Chevy truck question. But, since the folks at my Nissan forum are not terribly helpful, I thought I would ask the people who usually know.

My wife drives a ’92 Pathfinder 4WD running Michelin 31x10.5 R15 LT rubber on 15” aluminum rims. I know that’s not “big” compared to what I’ve seen on some 4WDs here, but it’s big to me.

On a perfectly flat road (i.e. highway) the vehicle tracks straight and true. But in town, if there’s slight ridges/humps in the asphalt, it will pull to one side or the other (not always the same side). This is often exacerbated under heavier braking at stoplights. It happens in 2 or 4WD.

I checked the front-end parts out last summer and ended up repacking and preloading the front wheel bearings, which seemed loose. All else “appeared” tight.

So, is this normal for “larger” tires? It seems to have gotten worse over the winter so far, so I will be jacking her up again and checking for worn front end parts soon. But in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions?
