Blazer top repairs

Has anyone every replaced the captured nuts that hold the front of the top to the windshield frame? This is for a single wall top. The two nuts over the ends of the sunviser mounts won't hold.

Re: Blazer top repairs

Are they spinning or stripped. If they are just sripped you could heli coil them. One of mine was spinning, so we replaced them both. The windshield frame was dismantled when it was stripped for painting, so we did them at that point. I dont see why you could not cut them out with a hole was and weld in new ones that way though.

Re: Blazer top repairs

They were spinning b/c the cage around the nuts had rusted out. So I had to cut some holes in the top to get to the captured nuts and replace/fix what was left of the captured nut. I fixed the holes I made in the top and it all works fine now.
