Demagnetization of a t.b.i distributor?

Hello,

I searching for an answer for random skip I am currently experiencing, I recently read about the demagnetization of the t.b.i distributor possibly being a cause for misfires, however, there was no explanation of what is was or how to fix it.

Is there anyone out there who can explain the cause and how to test for such a failure?

Thank you for any help.
