Door panel installation ?
A friend of mine is redonig his interior on a 69 and bought new vinyl door panel covers. Who has installed new ones? What should he be on the look out for for problems? Did you glue front and back or just back overlap? I would appreciate any info or suggestions.
Once he gets it together I am sure I can convince him to join and show some pics of his truck. Thanks guys

Haven't done it yet, but I'm gearing up to do it now, so I'll be watching this thread for tips also. I've got the new covers, and have a couple of used metal doorpanels that I was planning to clean, sand, and coat with POR15, since they seem to rust at the bottom around the screws.

It takes 2 guys to pull at all 4 corners to slightly stretch the wrinkles out before letting it make contact, we spray the back of the vinyl and the panel with contact cement, let it dry to the touch, align it and put down. on the back corners we use a razor blade to make small pie cuts so it forms around the curve with no wrinkles and when you have the corners done spray it and put them down while stretching them slightly, trim the door handle and window crank hole with pie cuts and glue then to the back and install the escutions, the door panel bottom screw holes can be done using an awl to open them up and using the correct door panel washers and screws. NOT finish washers.
